Feb 18th marked 12 years since I started A Beauty Junkie in London. But the first thing I have to acknowledge that fact that new blog content has been somewhat tumbleweed around these parts… honestly, 2020 knocked it out of me and I’ve put the energy I’ve had into my consulting work, time with my daughter and other projects and the blog has taken a little bit of a back seat.

Even at the times when my blog has been core to my job, I’ve always wanted to enjoy it first and look at it as a business second. If it felt like a chore I decided I didn’t want to force it. So whilst that’s kept me feeling happy when I’ve been writing, it hasn’t always the most consistent at putting regular posts out there. Which is a bit of a u-turn on what I did in the earlier years where it was a daily post without fail! But twelve years doing the same thing and it’s ok to change things a bit.
I was actually going down a bit of a blog-history rabbit hole with images on Flickr whilst trying to repair a few blog posts where the pictures had broken and it really is so surreal to think back to the incredible experiences and opportunities I’ve had over the past 12 years. Especially now after the past year it really magnifies how amazing the things I’ve been able to do thanks to starting rambling about beauty products on the internet 12 years ago.
