Meals I’ve made for my sister & her husband after they had twins
FIRST OF ALL: my sister had twins and they are so cute. It’s so sweet to see Liam, my 3-year-old nephew, enjoy them too! TWINS! I’m still in shock.
My mom stayed to help with the transition for a while but after she left I wanted to step in and lighten the food prep load at Lauren’s house. I thought about how hard it can be to come up with meal ideas even with 3 older kids and decided that I didn’t want to make her come up with food ideas while she was caring for newborn twins and a 3-year-old.
The first week I was cooking for them I sent her a menu of 9 different options. I focused on breakfast and dinner options. She picked 3 things, and I made them and dropped them off for her family to eat that week.
Since then, I’ve sent her menu options every week or so, with a little break in the middle due to some sickness around my house, and it’s been a great way for me to help and support her if I’m not able to physically be at the house.
We’ve jokingly called this role that I’ve taken on Kiki’s Katering! In case it’s helpful, here are a few kitchen tools that I have and use all the time!
