Although plenty of skincare marketed to women would work brilliantly for men too, the scent and packaging isn’t always what they’d like to have in their bathroom. Here’s some suggestions from men’s ranges that are both effective and straightforwardly presented.
If you’ve got a man in your life who’d like to try a variety of different grooming products, this set from Clarins, £65, might float his boat. Clarins Men have simply presented, classy product that smells (thankfully) a million miles from Lynx Africa. He could either open this lot in one go or spread it out into January.

For a more classic set of essentials, including three full sizes of shower gel, shave gel and moisturiser this set from Elemis, £45, is excellent value.  

 
Neville, the brother brand to Cowshed, has lovely proper traditional shaving sets for those who defuzz the old fashioned way. This set, £70, would look very classy next to the sink.

 
Finally, for a man that likes discovering a new brand, Daimon Barber has smartly presented, effective skincare for men. The man in my life has been testing this over recent weeks and is particularly enjoying using the Exfoliating Cleanser, £20, which as he’s now discovered does the job efficiently and in a far gentler manner than his normal supermarket brand. Highly rated in our house.
