Everything I Read in March
So, March was a slower reading month but I still finished a few books that I thoroughly enjoyed!
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah // I started this novel a few years ago. I had to set it aside because it was just so hard to read. There were such heartbreaking scenes that involved children that I just couldn’t bear. I decided to finish it up in March and I’m so glad that I did. This was a 5-star read, with a warning that there are very, very difficult parts to read that involve immense tragedy.
The Last Love Note by Emma Gray // This was our book club pick last month and I enjoyed it! I felt like it offered a new perspective for me on loss, grief, and life after losing a loved one. I listened to this one and am glad that I did.
The Women by Kristin Hannah // Wow. As expected this book was outstanding. I was deeply, deeply invested in the story. There was a decent amount of gore during the war scenes, but I think ultimately including graphic details was necessary to vividly convey the story. My heart swelled many times while reading this book and it was absolutely a 5-star read!
I started Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt but I abandoned it a few hours in (I was listening to it). I just couldn’t get into the story. Since I didn’t finish it, I won’t give it a star rating.
