A Holiday Wreath DIY
I come from a family of creatives who like to work with their hands. My mom loves decorating, cooking, and making jewelry. My sister makes jewelry, likes to organize, and generally likes to create. When my brother was younger I remember him setting up intricate and expansive war scenarios with his action figures. My dads creativity really shows through when he’s coming up with games and things to play with the boys. He was the one that built the road that the kids love! The women have all gone through different seasons of crafting, from scrapbooks to hair accessories, over the years as well.
I don’t have much mental space or time for crafting these days but my friends and I were planning our next girls night and the idea of creating modern holiday wreaths popped up. I instantly began scrolling through pinterest for inspiration and found so many that I loved. This is such an easy project to do yourself. The supplies are cheap too! I thought it would be fun to do with family around the holidays so I’m sharing the steps for how to create them below!
Supplies: scissors and/or wire cutters, floral tape, greenery (fresh or fake), macrame ring (I’m using size 12 inch here), hot glue gun optional
If you are using fresh greens, trim a few branches to help you get a layout of the wreath. If you are using fake greens, you likely will be able to simply slide them off the stem! Otherwise, use scissors or wire cutters to trim them.
