The crisp mornings are here, scarf season has arrived and summer’s sheer tops are packed away for the long haul…this is not easy to write if you love summer and you don’t do winter well (like me!). But as I’m tapping this out, the essential oil scented pine cones on my desk are reminding me of magical forest walks, catching copper leaves, creamy butternut squash soups, all the new season beauty launches and…autumn scents.
There’s one “odd scent out” in this line-up and it’s Roger & Gallet’s Verveine Utopie (for those of you like me who don’t want summer to end) but there’s an interesting twist. It starts out bursting with the fresh sharpness of verbena then reveals notes of cedarwood and ultimately dries down to a warm base of guaiac wood. What these scents do all have in common is their “uni-wearable” he/she appeal.
So first up:
