We spend so much of our lives rushing from place to place, filling our diaries with unnecessary appointments and juggling commitments with loved ones that we seldom pause to reflect on what really makes us happy. You may assume it would be expensive holidays, a new pair of shoes or getting a pay rise, but more often than not it's the small things that make a big difference on a day-to-day basis. Once we're aware of those small things and the positive impact they have on us, it's far easier to integrate more of those moments into our days; it's far easier to understand how we can turn a rubbish day around, or what to do when we have a couple of hours to spare.
