Weekly Must-Have: Algenist Alive Prebiotic Balancing Mask
There’s been some debate as of late about whether masks are really all that necessary if your skincare routine includes what it truly needs. Debate aside, my visage clearly reaps the benefits, and it?s a moment of #selfcare that I?m not interested in giving up. So while my commitment may not be wavering, it?s undeniable that masks aren?t always the most fun to use. My favorites, before I tried Algenist Alive Prebiotic Balancing Mask, tended toward messy, hard to remove, and, sometimes, even a bit smelly.
With the Algenist Alive Mask, masking feels like less like a commitment. First, the recommended application time is only three to five minutes. That?s less than a quarter of my other formulas, which means I can even use it in the morning before work if I?m feeling brave. After cleansing, I apply to dry skin and massage it in until the color changes from green to pink (a fun sign that it?s gotten down to business). After rinsing, my skin feels deeply clean, but *key*, also balanced and hydrated. Why" Because this mask is filled with algae, prebiotics, and probiotics to balance your skin?s surface ecosystem. I love probiotic supplements to keep my stomach feeling happy and regular, and it feels like this mask works towards the same goal. It leaves skin smooth and bright, and overall it makes the complexion look more youthful and alive. Remember: not all bacteria are to be avoided!
