I recently returned from a few days on a solo visit to one of my favourite places in the world, New York. This time around I stayed in a different neighborhood to my usual Midtown/Gramercy location – I wanted to explore somewhere new, whilst still being in a central enough spot I felt I could walk all over without issue. With that in mind, I chose to book ModernHaus Soho and now I’m back wanted to share my review.

Firstly, a little context – New York City is somewhere I often describe as ?my happy place?, something I want to also caveat with the fact my happy place is also very much at home. But as much as I love home, New York is somewhere special for me. My first visit was back in 2004 and since then I have visited I think a total of 11 times, four of those trips being ones I?ve taken alone.
Not that the fact I was solo is overly relevant other than a little context to the importance of location in selecting a location to stay in. Feeling comfortable walking around day or night alone is top of the list when choosing where to stay.
