Red Carpet Nails Colour Dip Mixing Kit – Review

When it comes to nails, I keep mine fairly short and tidy, although I won?t say no to a bit of colour on special occasions. Â I had acrylic nails done recently and they were quite damaging (REALLY DAMAGING) and it took a long time for them to get back to regular strength. It?s made me quite cautious of what I should be putting on them.Â
Having said that I found some time to play with Red Carpet Manicure?s new Nail Colour Mixing Kit (£40).
As someone who is not mad ?in to? nails, nail powders are an entirely new concept to me although I realise they have been around for a while. Read on if you are as clueless as me…
Nail powders are a long lasting manicure product lasting 2 to 4 full weeks – they are considered to be more on the acrylic side than gel.  The process involves dipping your nail in to the powder (after applying a sticky base coat) and repeating if necessary. Applying something called an activator sets the powder and it becomes pretty solid. Because it?s powder, you can mix them up and create some unique shades.Â
This particular kit provides you with everything you need to begin with (there?s quite a lot of bits and pieces you need to get separately other wise).Â
Here are the colours provided, plus you get empty jars to mix up shades and a guide.Â
This video here explains how it works perfectly.Â
So I followed the steps down to the tee, cleaning the nail, base coat and dipping.Â
When you dip, be careful and make sure you don?t leave gap...
