OOTD: Prepping For Autumn With Frills, Slip-Ons, Tassel Earrings & An Old-School Mulberry Bag
Can you believe it's nearly Autumn" This year our summer seems to have flashed by in the blink of an eye, with the short and sharp bursts of heat leaving us as quickly as they appeared; it's so very British to be discussing the weather, but here's hoping for an Indian Summer so we can all get wear out of those dresses left lingering at the back of the wardrobe. While I mourn the loss of opportunity to bask in the heat, I'm also looking forward to shades of autumn and the need to cover up with a light jacket - there's something so very appealing about this transitional time of year and the fashion moments that come with it. The first outing of a new pair of boots; the first time you pull on a snuggly jumper; the first opportunity to pop on a scarf or embrace the opaque tights again.
THE ULTIMATE TRANSITIONAL FLOATY DRESSOne of the biggest struggles during those September-November months is the fact you're always either too hot or too cold; the wavering temperatures mean you never know whether you need a cover-up or could do without, or whether the choice of outfit may seem appropriate at 8am but by midday you're cursing your decisions. This floaty layered dress from Elvi is perfect, thanks to the lining and lightweight material that keeps you covered up but also cool. (I can't stand sweaty material!) It was great for one of those days when the weather could go either way, and looks as good with a leather jacket and slip-ons as it does with a pair of strappy sandals. ...
