If my memory serves me I first discovered the Splendid Waffle Knit Thermal Cardigan at Anthropologie. I know it’s been sold there over the years and I honestly cannot remember when I first found this cardigan.
I’ve since seen it at Splendid’s online store (they are doing 40% off today 10/3 on some colors with code “friends” taking nearly $30 off), and also on Amazon.
It’s the *perfect* open cardigan. I’ve gotten so much wear out of it, both the grey and black version, and there’s not an item I think you need more in your closet this fall and winter than this one.
It can be thrown on over athleisure wear, or dressed up with knee high boots and a striped or basic tank underneath.
I usually wear this sweater every time I’m traveling because it’s long and comfortable but doesn’t feel too heavy or bulky of a sweater. I love the hood, the pockets, and it has a flattering drape around the front.
I don’t think they are making this dark charcoal grey anymore but there is a lighter grey option available that is really pretty.
I genuinely think this is one of the oldest items of clothing that I have in my wardrobe. Before this I had an 11 year old trench coat from Gap that I finally replaced because a hole had finally ripped through the right hand pocket.
