Make The Most Of Your Suitcase Space: 6 Tips For Reducing Your Beauty Luggage When Traveling
I may have perfected the art of packing minimal clothes for a long weekend away (I've learned the hard way I don't need four pairs of shoes for three days,) but the same couldn't always be said when it comes to my beauty products. Having become accustomed to using about thirty different lotions and potions every morning, editing them down into a tiny case is somewhat of a challenge. However, after many hand-luggage-only trips away, I've finally perfected packing for a holiday or mini break without having to scrimp on essentials. If your next trip is dependent upon getting all you need into a cabin-sized bag, or you simply want to save time or money by not checking in any luggage, you may welcome some of my tips for making the most of the space you do have.
DECANT INTO SMALLER CONTAINERS The majority of products we buy are packaged in bottles or tubs intended to provide multiple months of use, so (unless you're planning an almighty trip) you don't need the whole bottle. If you simply can't be without your favourite body lotion, hair serum or body scrub for more than 24hrs, decant a little into smaller containers and label them appropriately - you can pick up transparent bottles for less than a pound and re-use them every time you travel. Don't forget to seal each of the lids with a layer of sellotape to prevent any spillage or leakage you may regret later; those cheap bottles aren't designed to last.
