Living a Greener Life! Trying Glugglug Reusable Straws
Having kids really made me look at the sheer amount of waste we produce as a family. It?s not just nappies, it?s the other things like the endless containers of snacks and drinks and all the plastic rubbish you accumulate over time.
So I began to look at fairly straight forward ways that we could cut down. One easy way is using reusuabel straws. Â I actually bought a few years ago when someone recommend ?hot straws? to me for drinking tea and coffee, as it minimises teeth staining – great but I soon forgot to use them.Â
Now with the straws, I actually used to buy the bags of 100 from Ikea so it seemed like a perfect thing to substitute. Glugglug make resusuable straws and glasses and contacted me on Instagram to see if I wanted to try some straws, so I figured – why not" If we were going to drop this properly then we?d need a decent supply so I wouldn?t be tempted to pick up a disposable one.Â
They rather aptly come in these paper envelopes which I love. Let me talk you through the different types of straws they have:
1. Aluminium (comes in blue and purple) in a set of 4.Â
These metal ones keep your drinks cooler for a longer time. Â It has rounded edges so that you shouldn?t cut yourself on them – I quite like to use the metal ones with my hot drinks (obviously taking care that the drink isn?t too hot).Â
2. Silicone Straw – Standard Width (orange)Â
Standard, good for most drinks. They can also be cut to size for small kids for example....
