4th of July fun!
This year we’ll be heading up to Virginia to celebrate the 4th of July with my in-laws. They live in a very small town, without even so much as a stoplight, but there is something special about celebrating a patriotic holiday in a small, southern town.
We’ll go on the lake, hopefully find a parade to watch, and if David can make it (and I’m quite sure he can!), we’ll let him stay up to watch the fireworks. Luke can barely make it past 7:15p these day so I’m sure he’ll hit the hay early!
I picked up some cute, coordinating outfits from Target for the boys to wear on the 4th! I also grabbed a few festive things from the dollar section and this picnic blanket too! I have very fond memories of watching a small town parade in Wisconsin with my family and I’m so excited to introduce David and Luke to that fun! The fire trucks always scared me as a kid, just because they are so loud, but the firefighters always tossed out the best candy that we could run and scoop up off the street!
David: shorts, shirt ; Luke: shorts, shirt
More often, as the boys are getting older, I’m getting the “are they twins"” question when we are out. And while I still think they look so different, I’m beginning to see a closer resemblance as Luke is growing out of his “baby-ness”.
David insisted on pulling the wagon when we tried out the blanket and blew up the ball. He’s always looking for something to do so...
