3 steps to prep your hair for re-styling
Everyone knows all about dry shampoo by now, and while that is great for absorbing oil and reviving your root area on day 2 (or 6), the middle and ends of your hair often get left for dead.
Literally.
If you like to restyle on day 2, with or without heat, here are a few key products and tips to help your re-styled hair look just as beautiful as day 1! I’m not including dry shampoo in the list as that would go without saying, but these three steps help you wake up with the middle and ends of your hair looking less like it was slept on, and more like it just needs a little pick-me-up.
Brush it out before bed. Sleeping on hairspray almost never ends well, so grab your paddle brush and smooth through your locks. The only time I would suggest not brushing it out is when you know you’ll be pulling it into a messy bun or braid the next day. The texture of leftover hairspray can be quite nice for both of those styles, it’s just not idea for re-curling or re-smoothing. Apply an oil or cream to your ends. Oils have long been a “apply to wet OR dry hair” product, but I’m seeing more and more creams and serums for the hair that can be applied dry as well. Most recently I’ve been using the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Fresh Cut Split End Mender and also Kenra’s Revive Oil.
